Key Data Set Information
Reference year 2024
Name
Aluminium Doors (dimension 1000x2100)
Technical purpose of product or process Aluminum is a material with many advantages. It is light and at the same time extremely durable. External doors made of aluminum covered by this EPD are characterized by long service life and resistance to corrosion, moisture and changing weather conditions. External doors marked with the CE mark have tightness, durability and waterproof parameters that are required by the EN 14351-1 standard. On the one hand, aluminum doors will enrich the aesthetics of your home, adding even more style and character to it - both outside and inside the building. On the other hand, they will improve its parameters, especially when it comes to safety and energy efficiency. Constant control of the production process of manufactured doors and panels ensures above-average quality of the goods offered. They are characterized not only by unique aesthetics. The variety of models and the ability to give the doors an individual look thanks to the selection of colors, filling patterns and finishing elements are their additional advantages. The guarantee of the highest quality of ALUHAUS products is the OKNOPLAST Group - one of the leading manufacturers of windows and doors and a leader in innovation in Europe. On average, 94% of product weight (covered by EPD) is made of aluminium. The average weight of 1 m2 of a reference aluminium door is 49.2 kg/m2.
General comment on data set The values determined to calculate the LCA originate from verified OKNOPLAST Sp. z o.o. inventory data. The allocation rules used for this EPD are based on general ITB PCR A. Production of PVC windows is a line process executed by OKNOPLAST Sp. z o.o. in plant located in Podleze (Poland). Allocation was done on product mass basis. All impacts from raw materials extraction and processing are allocated in module A1 of the LCA. Impacts from the global line production of OKNOPLAST Sp. z o.o. were inventoried and 96,2% were allocated to PVC windows. Water and energy consumption, associated emissions and generated wastes are allocated to module A3. Packaging materials were taken into consideration. The life cycle analysis (LCA) of the declared products covers: product stage – modules A1-A5, end of life – modules C1-C4 and benefits and loads beyond the system boundary – module D (cradle-togate with options) in accordance with EN 15804+A2 and ITB PCR A. Energy and water consumption, emissions as well as information on generated wastes were inventoried and were included in the calculations. It can be assumed that the total sum of omitted processes does not exceed 5% of all impact categories. In accordance with EN 15804+A2, machines and facilities (capital goods) required for the production as well as transportation of employees were not included in LCA.

1This impact category deals mainly with the eventual impact of low dose ionizing radiation on human health of the nuclear fuel cycle. It does not consider effects due to possible nuclear accidents, occupational exposure nor due to radioactive waste disposal in underground facilities. Potential ionizing radiation from the soil, from radon and from some construction materials is also not measured by this indicator.
2The results of this environmental impact indicator shall be used with care as the uncertainties on these results are high or as there is limited experiences with the indicator.
